Originally an early to mid C18 building which has recently (1970) been
re-fronted in replica. This was originally the only front in Shaftesbury
to show any affinity to the good early-mid C18 work in the neighbouring
Blandford.
3 storeys. 3 windows. Red brick front. The upper part has brick pilasters
with carved stone caps supporting a Doric entablature of stone with trighyphs
and guttae. small open pediment in centre. Sash windows with triple keystones,
altered glazing bars. Central window under pediment is round-headed.
Brick voussoirs. Modern plate glass shop front on ground floor flanked
by fluted pilasters with plain fascia and modillion cornice over.

Nos 12 to 26 (even) an No 26A form a group with "The Butt of Sherry" Wine
Bar and premises occupied by The Midland Bank, The Commons.
