Barn and shippon. C18 but incorporating remnants of an
earlier timber-framed structure probably of C17. Hammer-
dressed stone with graduated stone slate roof. 4 structural
bays with opposed cart entries in bay 2 flanked on the front
by outshut shippons which were formerly aisles. Quoins.
Plain door openings to shippons, a C19 one on the right
return having a square-cut surround. Round-headed cart entry
at rear. Through-purlin roof supported on 2 collar and tie-
beam trusses and one tie-beam truss with inclined struts.
The aisle plate and one aisle post remain on the front side
where the tie beams are diagonally braced to the walls
(formerly to posts). The other end of the trusses is
supported on brick corbels. The outbuilding adjoining the
north of the barn is not included in this entry.
