House. C17, refronted mid C18. Coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings
and quoins; part of rear wing brick; roof of graduated Lakeland slates; part of
rear wing roof Welsh slate. L-plan. 3 storeys, 5 bays. Central 4-panel door
and 3-pane overlight in raised stone surround with cornice; raised stone
surrounds with moulded sills to sashes with broad glazing bars on ground and
first floors, and 2-light horizontal sliding sashes on second floor. Roof has
gables projecting above slates; 2 ashlar corniced end chimneys on projecting
stacks. Left return has small chamfered single lights on each floor to right
of stack; wood porch, and sash with glazing bars. Renewed stone mullioned-and-
transomed 3-light window in 2-storey, 2-bay wing, and blocked 2-light chamfered
stone-mullioned window above. Further brick 2-storey, 2-bay part has boarded
door and horizontal sliding sash under wide oak lintels; steeply-pitched roof
and large square projecting gable stack with offsets.
