Later front elevation to late C18 building. 3 storeys in red brick with Welsh
slate roof with centre brick stack. 4 windows, hung sashes with glazing bars,
stone lintels. Edwardian shop front in stone breaks forward. 6-panel passage
door in linking section to No 4 to right. Tumbled brickwork to gable end.

No 1, Premises occupied by York County Savings Bank, Nos 2 and 3, White Swan Hotel
and outbuildings, Nos 4 to 7 (consec) form a group with The Bay Horse Public House,
Nos 9 to 11 (consec) and No 14 of which Nos 1, 9 and 14 are of local interest.
