GV II

Public road bridge over Leeds-Liverpool canal. c1796-1802. For
the Leeds-Liverpool Canal Company; engineer Samuel Fletcher.
Coursed squared sandstone. Semi-elliptical arch with
rusticated voussoirs, plain band, rectangular terminals, coped
parapets and concave curved abutments. Oval number plate on
south side "130" (large cast-iron pipe crosses north side).
Forms group with former Clock Tower Mill adjoining south-east
corner (qv).
