Gateway 20m east of St Mary's School

GV II

Gateway. c1844. Red brick with ashlar dressings. Round-arched
gateway with hood mould and square piers with plinths. C20
wooden gates. Above, a gable topped with a pediment, and a
stone panel inscribed "St Mary's Schools Boys Entrance". The
former Baptist chapel was converted to a church school c1844,
now a casino in Plumptre Place (qv).
