House, now shop with storage above. Mid C16, altered C19 and
C20 and with a late C20 rear extension. Timber-framed. Roof of
concrete corrugated tiles. 2 storeys. Facade with a late C20
plate-glass shop-front. Gable above, parallel to street, is
plastered and colourwashed and pierced by one 1/1 late C20
imitation sash. Gabled roof behind at right angles.
INTERIOR: boxed beam in front room. Rear room with exposed
timber-framing, including a blocked doorway and window in
south wall. Cellar with mid C16 and C17 brickwork. Between 2
ground-floor rooms is an inserted staircase. Front first-floor
room with a blocked 3-light diamond-mullioned window.
Crown-post roof of mid C16 design: square posts with solid
arched braces to crown purlin and collars. Cambered tie beams.
