Pair of cottages. 1872. By W. E. Godwin for Earl Cowper.
Brick, tile hung, with plain tile roof. Chamfered plinth. 3
external gable stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays. T-plan. Windows are
leaded casements. Front has central gabled bay with 2 quadruple
casements and door in each return angle. Beyond, single
quadruple casements. Above, datestone inscribed 'C.1872'. Above
again, 2 quadruple casements plus single casements in each return
angle. The stacks have been reduced in height and the rear
elevation substantially altered. This building is one of a
number of farmhouses and cottages designed by E. W. Godwin for
Earl Cowper in 1872-78.
