Wharf-side shelter and store. C1840. Brick ground floor, mostly
timber 1st floor. Large slated hipped roof covering store and
wharf. Supported internally on king-strut tie-beam truss having
twin angle struts and strutted rafters. Externally, roof
supported on queen post type construction with principal rafters
(through purlins) and large timber column with radiating rafters at
point of hip. Some external timbers chamfered and shaped.
Ground floor with C20 entrance; 1st floor timber access doors
to yard and canal. Plain brick and timber interiors; 1st floor
with row of original shaped pegs. This building is an important
rare survival of a once common canalside feature.
