Comprises the following 4 properties, once separate buildings now amalgamated to form
the hotel:
Nos 152 and 154
Late C18 pair. Three storeys, attic and basement. Each property 2 windows wide with
one dormer. Square headed sash windows. Slate mansard roof to parapet. Stucco
facades with continuous canopied balcony to first floor supported on columns.
No 156
Late C18 or early C19. Four storeys and basement. Three windows wide. Brick built
with segmental curved front wall stuccoed full height. Square headed moulded windows,
opening onto 2-storey canopied balcony at first and second floors. Pilastered doorcase
to entrance door.
No 158
Extended C18 building. Two storeys and basement. Fourteen windows wide. Hipped
slate roof to modillioned eaves cornice. Entirely stuccoed. Doric entrance portico
between 2, 3-light canted bays. Further segmental curved bay at right-hand end of
front. Square headed sash windows with moulded, almost flush frames.
