and attached
walls and railings

GV II

House. Late C18 with additions c1805 for Mr Inglestone the local
mill owner. Dressed stone with ashlar dressings and stone slate
roofs. 5 stone stacks. L-plan. 2 storey. South west front, c1805,
has coped gables with moulded kneelers, and eaves brackets. 3
window front, with central 6-panel door with flat hood supported
on brackets. Eitherside single glazing bar sashes, with 3 similar
sashes above. South east, street front has later gable to-left
with a single small plain sash and to right 2 window, late C18
front, now rear wing with quoins. Doorway to left with C20 flat
roofed porch, then a single glazing bar sash, and beyond a pair
of similar sashes, all in flush ashlar surrounds. Attached to C20
porch, a low wall with chamfered coping around front garden, with
ornate iron railings and a gate.
Interior: Retains original features in 1805 front wing, including
panelled doors, shutters and dado rail, plus contemporary
fireplaces and plaster coving. Central stone stair. Rear wing has
exposed beams and a stone fireplace.
