Haygrove Farmhouse
II

Farmhouse. Probably cl800 refronting of earlier dwelling enlarged early
mid C19 on north front. Render grooved as ashlar on east front, random rubble and
buff bricks north front with lean-to and gabled tiled roofs, shallow pitched
hipped slate roof, overhanging eaves and boarded soffit on east front with brick
stacks rising from eaves on returns. Plan: probably original range lying east-west
extended with north-west cross wing and abutting agricultural range on north
front, double pile addition east front with verandah. East front: 2 storeys. 3 bays;
15-pane sash windows, first floor 20-pane ground, floor with central semi-
circular recess forming porch to double door with leaded fanlight, 7-bay
hipped slate roof verandah rebuilt with concrete posts. Set back to right lean-to
roof over 2-storey roughcast single bay with loft opening above square headed door.
