House. Later C16 2-bay house with external chimneystack and outshut with C19
range added to north. North range has ground floor of red brick with first
floor tile hung and tiled roof with end brick chimneystacks. 2 storeys, 2
windows. C19 triple casements and central simple doorcase. Rear range is
timber framed, tile hung to first floor and sandstone to ground floor with
steeply pitched tiled roof, hipped to one end, and massive external chimney-
stack, the base of sandstone the top of C16 brickwork. Two C19 casements and
C19 porch. Internally the frame is exposed with howled upright posts, midrail
and shutter grooves and mortices for window mullions. Original 2-plank door to
2nd floor and a most unusual survival of solid oak tread stairs. Open fireplace
with wooden bressumer and chamfered spine beam and exposed floor joists.
