Guide Post. Probably late C18. Square gritstone post, approx 5 feet tall with upper corner missing. The post carries weathered directional inscriptions; south face 'CHESTE/RFEILD (sic.)ROAD' with pointing hand, east face 'SHEAF/FEILD (sic), with hand, and on the north face 'BAKEW/ELL ROAD' with hand. The west face is blank. One of a pair, the other located 400 metres NNW (q.v.)
