Description

SJ 94 SE FORSBROOK C.P. CHAPEL STREET

5/185 Cashheath Farmhouse

- II

Farmhouse. C17 with minor late C19 alterations. Coursed, dressed and
squared red sandstone of ashlar quality; tiled roof; verge parapets
with pitched copings on corbelled kneelers; brick end stacks. Two storeys
and gable-lit attic on chamfered plinth and with moulded string at first
floor level. Exceptionally artful assymetrical front with catslide
to left taken down to ground floor level and with one chamfered mullioned
two-light window; the composition to right is symmetrical, of three
windows (all as above) with central projecting gablet taken up to well
above eaves level with a tier of windows running down from the attic
(the upper two labelled); a C19 lean-to conceals frontage to right;
entrance to left hand side. A very complete and unusual form of C17
house.
