Late Cl8. Designed as a 3 storey pair. Cement finish. Wide 3-light sash windows
with keystones to outer ends of elevation. In centre of each house are 2 built
out square porches finished with cornice and blocking course. Above are Venetian
windows, the outer lights of normal height but the centre light of 40 panes risIng
up to light the stair well. The actual centre is a one-storey pedimented projecting
service. wing with oval panel in tympanum. This is shared by both houses. Symmetrical
rear elevation in brick. 3 storeys with 3-3-3 sash windows. Full height outer
canted bays with double-hung sashes. Bands between storeys. Parapet carried
across front round tops of bays; slate roof. Central 4-column glazed porch.
No 9 has roof of modern tiles.
