SU 06 NW CALNE WITHOUT LONDON ROAD (A4), Quemerford

6/91 Blackland Lodge

Lodge to Blackland Park, mid to later C19, squared ashlar block
with some half-timbering, banded plain tile and fishscale tile
eaves roof with barge boards and end stacks. One and a half
storeys, T-plan originally, extended to rear in matching style.
North end wall to road has centre projecting chimney flanked by
single lights to first floor and small stone triangular bays to
ground floor, the bays repeated on adjoining ends of front and rear
walls. West front has the triangular bay to left, projecting
half-hipped central. porch gable with barge boards, jettied upper
floor with half-timbering to sides and small stone oriel to front.
Tudor-arched doorway, similar inner door. Two-light mullion
window to ground floor right. Single storey extension with 2-
light window beyond. Large C20 matching rear extension.
