Gate piers and screen walls at
entrance to Waterloo Promenade

GV II

Gate piers and screen walls. Mid C19. Ashlar, with cast-iron
railing. Central pair of chamfered square gate piers with
moulded plinths. Massive square caps with enriched segmental
pediments, topped with the remains of cast-iron lamps. On each
side, a low ashlar screen wall topped with a cut down railing.
At each end, a square pier with moulded plinth and concave
sided pyramidal cap.
This gateway is one of several of similar design erected by
Nottingham Corporation at entrances to the Forest and Waterloo
Promenade.
