Water pump at junction of Sundorne Road and Whitchurch Road

Conduit head. c1870. Cast-iron. Fluted shaft with domed cap
with lion's head over former spout, and inscription plate
reading "Waste Not Want Not". One of a series of conduit heads
installed in association with the water supply to the city
piped from the conduit head at Nobold (qv). Possibly not in
its original position.
