Includes: Nos.1 AND 3 KING'S WALK.
Shops and offices. 1901, altered C20. By WD Pratt of
Nottingham for WJ Ford. Altered mid and late C20. Red brick,
with ashlar dressings and slate roofs. Renaissance Revival
style. Windows are mainly plain sashes.
Main corner block, 3 storeys plus attics, 2 x 4 bays. 2
shopfronts with pink granite surrounds. Above, 2 elliptical
arched cross casements with enriched heads and voussoirs. To
the left, an arched overthrow reading "King's Walk". Above
again, 4 round-arched windows under a cornice, flanked by
tourelles with finials. Above again, to left, a coped gable
with a roundel. Left return has to left a round-arched doorway
and a rusticated shopfront. Above, 4 pairs of windows in
elliptical arched recesses. Wrought-iron overthrow with
pendant lamp. Above again, pairs of windows. These buildings
are part of a development including east and west sides of
King's Walk.
