Cottage Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Mid to later C19. Roughcast render probably on
brick, half-hipped graduated slate roof. Cottage ornee style.
Irregular double-depth plan with central entrance and short
wing to left.
2 low storeys and 2 windows. In the centre a full-height
gabled porch with a blank arch and cusped and pierced
barge-boarding has a lower secondary porch with a
semi-pyramidal slated roof. To the right the main range has a
large square casement window with glazing bars and a flat
cornice on brackets, and above this a half-dormer with sashed
glazing and cusped bargeboarding. To the left the gable of the
wing has a canted bay at ground floor with French windows and
glazing bars like the window to the right, a 4-pane sash at
1st floor with a flat cornice on brackets, and half-hipped
roof with barge-boarding like that of the porch. Chimney
behind ridge of main range, side-wall chimney to wing. Small
set-back side wing attached to left side of this.
