COWLISHAW ROAD (east side), Romiley

Werneth Old Hall Barn

Barn. Probably early C18. Coursed rubble and graduated
stone slate roof. Central opposed cart entries with shippon
and hayloft to right which is accommodated by an outshot at
the rear. Rough stone quoins and projecting plinth. The
cart entries have timber lintels and the bay to the right is
obscured by later stables. The rear has rows of vents on
two levels and two shippon doors. Door and three small windows to
right gable and loft hatch and vents to left.
