House and stable, now house. c1600 timberframed house of 2 bays, with further bay added to
west in early C19 and brick front wing and stable added in C19. North front has two
timber-framed bays with exposed box framing and tension braces and painted brick infill.
Weather boarded bay to right. Slate roof Two storeys; 3 windows. C19 casement windows and
canted bay to ground floor right. South front has weatherboarded left bay with projecting
canted bay. Remainder brick with some C19 casements and some early C20 windows. Interior
has exposed timber-framing with diagonal tension braces to roof and old floorboards to first
floor room. Inserted Jacobean balusters to winder staircase. Early C19 two-centred doorcases
and fireplaces. A Mr Friswell in the C19 made a chapel in the west upstairs room. Inlaid
compass in parquet floor on ground floor is probably early C20.
