Former film studios, now owned by the Coal Board (June 1969) and much altered
internally. Mid C19. Stuccoed. West Elevation - Main block is of 3-storeys,
5 windows, flat arches, glazing bars. Iron window guards to 2 windows
of the attic storey, below a parapet with recessed panels and above a cornice
which continues to the 2 flanking wings which are of 1 storey with a blind
storey with label above it. The ground floor is rusticated in the main
block and wings, with 8 windows, flat arched, set in arched recesses with
keystones. Semi-circular porch, 4 reeded columns (2 attached). 4 steps.
5 panel door, ornamental fanlight. East Elevation - Similar. Plain stucco.
5 flat arched windows. Plain Doric porch. Left hand section, much altered
- main feature is ornamental iron verandah, with semi-circular lunette
above.
