Lodge to former entrance to Nostell Priory, now house. Probably early C19.
Rendered brick, stone slate roof. Attached to east gable wall of Japonica
House (q.v.) and on the same axis, but with facade in gable wall (facing
former drive); 3 units on lateral axis, the centre of 2 storeys and one bay,
with set-back full-height lean-to wings. Symmetrical; central doorway with
narrow side windows all under a cornice with a consoled pediment over the
door (glazed door and windows, all with glazing bars); at 1st floor a
tripartite window of matching proportions, with raised sill and 3 keystones.
Each side wing has a 4-pane sashed window, and to the left of that on the
left a further small lean-to with a doorway.
