Pool with fountain in north garden, about 60 metres north-north-west of Montacute House

Pool with fountain. 1894 by R.S. Balfour, on site of or close by to C16 pond. Ham stone ashlar. Greek cross plan with convex quarter-circles in angles: pool framed by low plinth, on which are turned balusters with moulded coping in all about 800mm high, with piers having obelisk finials to the eight principal corners: fountain a simple spout only.
