A Cl6-Cl7 timber-framed building, much altered. The south front is faced in red
brick and the rear is weatherboarded. On the east side there is a large original
chimney stack with diagonal shafts and embattled base. On the west side there
are later additions. Roof tiled. (RCHM 3).

The Forge, Post Office and Cottqge, east of Post Office with Church of St Andrew,
Sandon Place and outbuilding at Sandon Place Rectory Road and the Crown Inn,
Sandon Green form a group.
