Farmhouse and adjoining cottage, now one house. Built as house circa early C19,
cottage added soon after and outshut at rear right. Mixed rubble walls with partly
dressed granite quoins, jambstones sills and lintels, some slate sills; cob to 1st
floor rear. Scantle slate roof originally with brick chimneys over gable ends but
roof extended to left when cottage added with hipped end with brick chimney over,
left.
Originally two room plan with through passage between, parlour left, slightly wider
kitchen right and stair at rear middle. Single cell cottage added at left of parlour
and single storey dairy outshut added to rear of kitchen.
2 storeys. Overall 4-window front with regular one window front of cottage, left, and
nearly symmetrical 3 window front of house, right. Doorway of house, with 4-panel
door, is left of middle of fenestation and doorway of cottage, at the right hand
side, is blocked. Original 16-pane hornless sashes to 1st floor and later 4-pane
horned sashes to ground floor.
Rear is unaltered since the C19.
Interior not inspected.
This house is one of the few modest circa early C19 farmhouses surviving unaltered in
this part of Cornwall.
