Detached cottage. Probably C17, modified. Local lias and Ham stone mixed coursed rubble; thatched roof with plain north
gable, long hip to south; brick chimney stack. Single-storey with attic, 3 bays. Below 3-light leaded casement window
to bay 1, under timber lintol, and 3-light hollow- chamfer mullioned window in recess, without label, to bay 3; above,
2-light small-pane casements set into roof: to lower bay 2 a C20 boarded door with sidelight under thatched hood on
wrot-iron brackets. Lean-to against south gable with boarded door in heavy frame. Two extensions to rear. Interior not
seen, but reported are chamfered beams, and trusses with slightly cambered collars - formerly 2-room cross-passage
plan. (SSAVBRG Report, SRO Unpublished, May 1981: Somerset villages - Long Load, and Knole, Long Sutton, SSAVBRG,
1982).
