GV II

House. Late C17, extended to rear and refronted late C18 and
restored c1990. Render over limestone rubble facade,
rubblestone to the rest; stone slate roof with 2 small hipped
dormers and hipped stair turret to the rear angle,
double-Roman tiles to the C18 rear wing; rendered stack to the
right gable end, rubblestone ridge stack to the rear wing
(gable end of the original house).
PLAN: L-shaped, 3-room front range with central hall; square
stair turret to the angle and C18 extension to the rear left
wing.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic; 5-window range. Cyma-moulded
architraves to 6/6-pane sash windows and left-of-centre door
which has a plain hood on brackets, sill band to the 1st floor
and plinth with steps to the door.
The rear has 2-light stone-mullioned windows to the main
block, a C20 4-over-8-pane sash window to the stair turret,
and casement and sash windows in raised surrounds to the C18
wing.
INTERIOR: not inspected but known to include early C18 fielded
panelling and bolection-moulded overmantel to right-hand
(south) room and collar-truss roof.
