GV II

Pair of houses, now offices. Mid C19. Limestone ashlar, hipped
slate roof with wide eaves, 2 small gabled dormers and stacks
to rear. Double-depth plans.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 4-window range (each house is
2-window range). Raised chamfered quoins. Windows to the sides
have bracketed sills, late C19 plate-glass sash windows to
No.29 to the left, C20 to the right; those to the centre with
semicircular arches. Moulded architraves and bracketed sills
to ground-floor windows; raised archivolts to central set-back
6-panel doors glazed to the top with fanlights, that to the
left with radial glazing bars.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached to No.28 to the right is a coped
ashlar wall approx 2m high and 3m long with a segmental-arched
opening. Extending forward and enclosing the front garden of
No.28 are similar lower walls with domed octagonal piers.
