House, extended, now office. Early C19, extended each side
later C19, and late C20 roof. Yellow brick with stone
dressings, side lateral stacks and a mansard slate roof. Late
STYLE: Georgian.
PLAN: double-depth plan with flanking extensions.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and basement and attic; 1:3:1-bay range.
Symmetrical front has openings in 3 full-height recesses to a
thin string and deep moulded parapet coping, with decorative
stone panels over the strings to each bay. Porch with columns
to an entablature and canopy, rectangular overlight with good
radial metal fanlight and a 6-panel door; 6/6-pane sashes, and
3 late C20 round-arched dormers.
Outer single-storey blocks have 4-light canted bays and dentil
cornices to parapet. Rear has shallow canted bays each side,
and steps up to the middle with wrought-iron railings.
INTERIOR: an entrance lobby and through passage with a central
stair with stick balusters and curtail, divided by segmental
arches, with a left-hand lobby with shallow plaster vault;
doorways with reeded architraves and corner rosettes and
6-panel doors.
