Coach House and stable to The Grove

GV II

Coach house and stable. Mid C19. Timber-framed and
weatherboarded over yellow stock brick, Flemish bond plinth,
with gabled Welsh slated roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys: first floor loft has 1 small 8-pane sash
window with architrave surround, and battened loft door to
right. Ground floor has twin leaf battened doors on
wrought-iron strap hinges with 8-pane fixed fanlight above.
INTERIOR: has pine boarded and zinc sheet dado, brick floor,
chamfered central softwood beam. Ground floor tack room has
Gothick pattern cast-iron grate.
Building forms an important element of the setting of Grove
House (qv).
