Walls to north garden to Goldings

GV II

Wall to walled garden, approx 60m x 80m. Early C19. Red brick,
partly reconstructed in yellow brick on S, approx 3m height,
brick and stone copings. Large Tudor arched gateway in centre
of south side, similar arched opening, flanked by piers, and
with twin leaf battened gates in situ, on east approx 8m north
of SE corner.
This walled kitchen garden related to the earlier Goldings
house, and is on a north-south orthogonal alignment, with its
SW corner approx 18m from the end of the kitchen wing of the
replacement mansion, built 1871-77.
It is of historical interest and a significant element in the
setting of Goldings mansion (qv).
