NOTTINGHAM

SK5639NE PARK ROW

East Lodge

GV II

Lodge, now office. c1860. Probably by TC Hine of Nottingham.
Altered late C19. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings
and plain tile roof with coped gables and kneelers. Quoins.
Large central ridge stack with 2 heavily coped octagonal
flues. Single storey, single bay. Gable end, to street, has a
chamfered mullioned cross casement with moulded surround, and
above a decorative plaque in gable. To its left, a gabled
porch with patterned tile roof and Tudor arched
weatherstripped door. Right return has a single plainer cross
casement.
This building was probably the lodge to the adjacent No.53
Park Row (qv).
(Get to know Nottingham: Brand K: Watson Fothergill,
Architect: Nottingham: 1987-: 17).
