House, one of a pair with No.43 (qv). Early C18. Stuccoed and
colourwashed brick. C20 pantile roof. 3 storeys and dormer
attic; 3-window range. Rusticated quoins. Fielded 6-panelled
door set to right under a plain overlight. Fluted pilasters
support a metope frieze. Guttae to the soffit of the door
hood. 2 horned 6/6 sashes left and 3 similar sashes to each
floor above. Platband at first floor. Wide cornice beneath a
low parapet. Gabled roof with one flat-topped dormer fitted
with a 6/6 sash. Rebuilt ridge stack right of centre. In front
of the door is a short length of square-section railings with
obelisk finials.
INTERIOR: not accessible at time of survey but likely to be of
interest.
