House, formerly lodge. C18, altered mid C19 in vernacular
style. Limestone rubble with gable stacks and a pantile roof.
Single-depth 2-room plan with a later rear wing.
2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. Coped left-hand gable
with moulded kneelers, a large decapitated exterior stack to
the right-hand gable, with the entrance and 4-panel door set
to its left under a C20 porch. 2-window elevation to road has
timber lintels over 2- and 3-light wood-mullioned windows with
C19 casements. 2 late C20 hipped dormers. Rear gabled
extension partly rebuilt, with a first-floor label mould.
INTERIOR not inspected.
The former lodge to Castlefield House (qv).
