Farmhouse. Circa early C17, remodelled in circa late C18. Timber-framed with red brick
nogging, brick and stone rubble side walls. Plain clay tile hipped roof with lead rolls to ridge
and hips. Brick or stone rubble side and lateral stacks with tall brick shafts. PLAN: A circa
late C18 remodelling of an early C17 house, forming a rectangular double-depth 3-bay
house, the right hand bay of which is all that remains of the original house. Small service
wing to the rear right. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys 3-bay south west front with 3-light
mullion-transom windows with metal casements. Central doorway with glazed and panelled
door, now enclosed in C20 conservatory on front. External stacks and similar windows on
side elevations. At rear single-storey wing on left with pent roof carried on timber posts and
lateral stack on right. INTERIOR: Right hand room has framed ceiling with pyramid stops
to the chamfered beams and circa mid C19 marble chimneypiece with cast-iron grate. Two
left hand rooms have chamfered cross-beams, the front room has large brick fireplace with
cambered timber lintel plastered over. King-post and queen-strut roof structure.
