3/256 Park House Lodge

GV II


Lodge to Park House (q.v.) now small house. Early mid-C19. Snecked volcanic
stone, partly plastered; stone and brick stack; slate and asbestos slate roof. 2-
room cottage facing north comprising gable-ended main range with west end stack and
left (east) end under separate hipped roof at right angles to main block. Single
storey. Main, right hand, block has symmetrical 2-window front set behind 3-bay
verandah. The left (east) hipped section has blind stone wall continuous with
verandah front. An ashlar base supports the slender cast iron stanchions of the
verandah. Central 4-panel door behind C20 glass-sided porch. 3-light windows with
moulded mullions and glazing bars with margin panes. A similar 2-light window in
side of projecting left end. Low pitch roofs and relatively tall brick chimney
shaft. Included for group value.
