Cottage. Probably C15 or C16 with circa 1600 and late C19 alterations.
Timber framed of cruck construction with painted brick nogging; corrugated
iron roof over thatch. Probably former open hall house of 3 framed bays,
aligned north-south. One storey and attic. Integral brick end stack to
north and integral brick stack in south-east corner; probably late C16 or
C17 gabled full-dormer to east with 3-light casement. Framing: square
panels, 2 from sole-plate to wall-plate. East front: 4 windows, C19 and
C20 one- and 2-light casements. Boarded doors in each gable end. Interior:
2 full cruck trusses (Alcock apex type V), chamfered beams and joists; C17
newel staircase. Alcock, Pp.97 and 145.
