TL 1444 OLD WARDEN WARDEN ROAD

11/186 Ickwell Lodge

GV II

Lodge cottage belonging to Old Warden Park. 1874 by Henry Clutton for Joseph
Shuttleworth. Yellow brick with stone dressings. Tile roof. 2-room plan,
one storey and attics. Jacobean style. E elevation: central half canted
porch has segmental arched entrance with moulded surround and label, and
single lights to side elevations. This is flanked by 2-light windows which
wrap around corners to provide single-lights to gable ends. Square-headed
arcading to parapet. N gable end: single lights to both ground floor corners.
4-light window to attic. Stone coped gable and finial. All windows have 3-
centred head to each light, and have moulded labels with the stops merging
into the wall. All elevations have a stone band at hood mould level, and a
moulded cornice at first floor sill level. Triple stack with diagonal stacks
to elevation. C20 addition to W.
