Terraced town houses, c1780-90,probably by John White for the Portland Estate.
Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floor; concealed slate roofs. 4
storeys and basement. 3-window wide astylar fronts. Broad semicircular arched-
doorways with keystones; panelled doors, with side lights and pilaster dividers
to Nos 1 to 4 (No 1 with delicate oval astragals), Nos 2 and 6 with pilaster
jambs, fluted or reeded doorheads and patterned fanlights. Recessed sashes,
under flat gauged arches on upper floors. Plat band over ground floor
stuccowork; 2nd floor sill bands to Nos 1 and 6; parapets with copings, No 3
with enriched frieze to later stucco entablature and pierced parapet. Plumbed
spike finialed area railings. Interiors not inspected.
