GV II

Barn. Erected in early to mid C18 reusing older timbers. South
side of clunch with ironstone galleting, typical of Petworth
estate buildings of the period, other sides weather boarded
over timber frame. Tiled roof. Central double cart entrance,
lower to south. 3 bay barn, aisled to south. Unusually roof
has one queen post and one angled queenstrut.Wall frame has
mid-rail and some diagonal braces. Roof has through purlins
and ridgepiece. Many roughhewn timbers ,some reused including
a top of a wallplate with diamond mullions. Some later
diagonal struts bolted on.
