House, probably late C17, with C18 alterations: 1721 date over door and initials
T M G (Greenwell). L-plan. Roughly-coursed squared sandstone with quoins and
ashlar dressings; renewed flagged roof of synthetic stone with stone gable
copings and stone chimneys. 2 storeys, 2 wide bays. 3-panelled door to right
of centre in raised stone surround under pediment; coat of arms, date and
initials above. 3-light stone-mullioned windows have recessed chamfers. Gable
copings rest on widely-curved kneelers; ridge chimneys at ends and to right of
centre. Returns have 2 rectangular attic windows in each gable peak.
Interior: Closed-string upper-flight stair has moulded handrail on twist shaped
flat balusters and rises from wide landing with short flight from ground floor.
Upper landing has similar balustrade. Plank-and-batten rear door,
Wide segmental chamfered stone fire opening revealed in ground-floor right room.
