GV II

Signal box c1880-5. Built for the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire
Railway. Timber framed with board cladding. Slate roof with ornate bargeboards
and finials. West front has single plain sash to ground floor and a 2 light
sliding sash, and adjoining 3 light window above, with small plain sash in the
gable. North front has first floor balcony with 2 central 4 light windows
flanked by 2 light sliding sashes. East front has open wooden staircase rising
to part glazed door, plus a 3 light and then a 2 light sliding sash. Above in
the gable a small plain sash. Included for group value.
