Gazebo 50m to north of The Fox Inn

Gazebo or Garden Temple. 1795. Built for John Dodsworth of Poppleton House. Red brick
with ashlar dressings and an asphalt roof Circular in plan, single storey. North river front has
4 Roman Doric columns supporting a fluted frieze, approached up 3 steps. The rear wall is
brick topped with a plain ashlar frieze, and the inner surface is plastered. Conical roof Inside
the ashlar frieze is a worn datestone inscribed "I D 1795".
