Mid to late C18 probably row of 2-storey cottages with ground floors of brick
and with upper floors of oak timber-framed construction with brick infilling
Clad externally with weatherboarding; uprights retain Roman numerals; nos 4
and 5 with weatherboarding extending down to within 3 feet of ground floor
level; weatherboarding on lst floor of no 9 has been removed to expose timber-
framing, Each house with one window bay and doorway; casement windows with
small panes; old leaded casement in rear elevation of no. 9. Tile roof with
half-hips; red brick chimneys. Within, ground floor ceiling beams have-been
exposed in nos 4 and 9; ground floor fireplaces of brick construction with
timber lintols; planked wooden doors; formerly stone slab floors at ground level
and no 7 formerly had a bread oven.
