Former tollhouse at Tarvin Road Lock

(Formerly listed as Former Tollhouse at Tarvin Lock)

GV
II

Formerly canal tollhouse, now unused: mid C19. Washed brick in
header bond with stone dressings. Felted domed roof. Circular plan
with brick plinth, and pulvinated stone parapet. 3 blocked windows
with stone lintels and chamfered sills. Board door at south-east with
stone lintel.
An unusual survival of such a building, interestingly not original to
the building of the canal.
