House, 1802; now unoccupied. Coursed dressed stone, slate roof with gable chimneys. Double-pile three-bay plan with attached service wing at rear. Two storeys, with quoins, moulded cornice, parapet; almost symmetrical: offset slightly left is panelled door with semi-circular fanlight and open-pedimented architrave, with a tall window above; otherwise, two coupled tall windows on each floor, all with plain one surrounds and all now boarded. Rear has in centre a continuous three-tiered opening with panelled door at ground floor and stairlight with glazing bars above; left of this a triple window on each floor, right of it coupled windows, all sashed with glazing bars.

History: built by Thomas Hargreaves (partner in Oakenshaw Printworks), later occupied by John Mercer (inventor of Mercerisation).
