DEBENHAM LOW ROAD

2 houses. A late C16 2-cell range, half in each occupation, with C17 cross-
wing to right (No.6) and C18-C19 in-line addition to left (No.8). Timber
framed, roughcast-rendered, pantiled roof. 2 storeys. Scattered
fenestration, mainly 2 and 3-light casements with a single horizontal glazing
bar to each light. A 4-light window with transom in the cross-wing. 2 mid
C20 gabled porches with plank doors. Internal stack in centre range.
Interior. No.6 modernised, with widely-spaced C16 studding on upper floor.
Lower room has chamfered-joist ceiling and open fireplace. Evidence for
diamond-mullioned window in former outside wall. Timbers in cross-wing
concealed. Interior of No.8 not examined.
